HI I am hoping someone can maybe share thoughts on this painting. It has a abstract look to it almost cubism in places. I think it is gouache and oil and it is painted on paper. I cannot find a signature unless it is under the mat of the piece. I am hoping someone can point me in the right way of a artist whose work this may resemble. Thank you in advance. That’s rather nice. It's a loose copy of a famous artist’s work, but with significant alterations to the original.

The original painting was by the Chinese-American artist Ding Shaoguang (Ting Shao Kuang) of the Yunnan Art School Style. He was born in China in 1939, moved to the US in 1980 and I believe he’s still alive.

Here’s a print of that work, said to have been removed from a high quality art book for framing (priced at $243), which says it was titled “Stone Garden”:
