I guess soul, blue-eyed funk or blues better describes this lady, who plays in an incredible band now with her husband Derek~the greatest slide player maybe ever.....at least the best since Dwayne Allman's untimely departure. In 2 weeks, I see this band for my second time, and it will be the third time seeing Derek Trucks.
 

as far as female guitarists you have to see laura cox- she's very good

I think it is his uncle that was an original AB member. Butch Trucks, I believe is his name. I suppose Clapton is my favorite guitarist of all time, but let me tell you this ~ Derek and his band are a JAM band. The guy is not flashy. It's almost like he is embarrassed to be in the spotlight. He plays because he LOVES to play, not because it pays his bills. His wife, Susan, has a tone to her voice that is butter. Check out their videos on YouTube.
