I kinda chuckled at this...

BUTTE, Mont. — A 61-year-old Silver Bow County woman got into a tussle with an aggressive deer after it attacked one of her poodles.

Carol Lince said it happened Monday at her home about 35 miles southeast of Butte.

Lince said she let her three poodles outside, and then heard one "screaming bloody murder."

She went outside and saw a doe attacking the smallest dog.

Lince kicked at the deer's hind legs to try to get the animal off her dog.

She said the doe rammed her with its head and pushed her into her fence. Lince started walloping the deer's head with her fists until it eventually jumped her fence and ran off.

Lince said she sustained bruises where the deer rammed its head into her abdomen.

The dog was pronounced OK by a veterinarian.

She is very lucky that the deer did not hurt her seriously. They can do some damage.

my cousin shot a doe one year during antlerless season...as we approached i could not see where he hit the deer...he proceeded to flip the deer over to field dress it when i said..."i can't see where it's hit ...i only see short hair on the ground and no blood....better check to see if its dead first" just as i said that the deer kicked with both legs into my cousins chest throwing him back about 3' and took off running...my cousin was gasping for air...i thought he broke some ribs or was having a heart attack...turns out he hit the deer in the head with a grazing shot which just sheared off some hair and knocked it out.....my cousin wound up with 2 large deep bruises on his chest and a badly torn hunting jacket...doctor said he was lucky it was so cold out and he was wearing lots of insulated clothes...deer hooves are very sharp and he could easily have had a cracked sternum and deep lacerations to his chest....always always always make sure the animal is dead before approaching or handling...someone should have told me this about bluefish and sharks...have the scars to show for it...for all you non hunters ...sorry if shooting "bambi" upsets you....
