These are my finds from my first farmers field hunt of the year, toasted coppers are early 18th century Swedish coins and one is Russian Denga from 1731. Silver coin in the middle is Finnish 25 penniä 1867.

Also found interesting looking piece of bronze, looks like a broken part of a old buckle.

Here is the keydate Finnish 25 penniä silver coin from 1867:

This coin is in the Finnish top 60 most rarest circulated coins list. This coin has a mintage of 383.000 pieces and in the 19th century, a 25 penniä was considered to be quite alot of money, so these coins are not lost very often and finding a keydate coin is a very rare event. Even in this not so good condition, this coin's value is quite nice.

Click the pictures to make them bigger.

This coin should considered to be a banner find, as this means the same to us Finnish detectorist, than finding a 1916 d silver dime in America.

Hi Digger, I havent had much time for detecting in Finland, mostly across the pond or across the other side of the island. What part of the country are you from? My home base is in the south west of Finland, in the islands. Finns dont seem to drop coins, like Americans, so even the usual coins are far and few between sometimes. Most of my old Finnish coins are copper and nothing left of them. Good luck on your banner, although its been a while.
