The old farm continues to give up a few goodies. I got out a couple of times over the last two weeks.
I was working an area that was only about 20 feet from the house, when I got a solid 51 on the Deus. At 5" when I flipped the plug over, I could see the J from the ring. The mint mark was worn down, but there is no corrosion or flaking. It's gold baby!
I wondered to myself, how did I miss this with the ETrac? It was shallow and in an obvious hot spot.
When I got home, I tested it upside down... it couldn't give me a solid TID, and it was all over the place. There' a small screw holding the stone in place. I think that may have thrown the ETrac off and made me think it was some sort of corroded beer cap. Dig everything, people....
We are heading out there again on Saturday for what could be the last hunt of the year. I am dragging out Irish Steve from Fredericton, and another friend of mine. One more silver for 2014, please!
Gold!
1915 fishie (Key-ish date), 1912 fishie and an 1899 Barber dime.

President pin?
A nice Tombac.
Merry Christmas to all, and happy hunting if you can get out again!
