I found all of these on the side of the road. Most people drive right by, not realizing what a good find it could be. Some may swerve so not to run them over. Some just don't see them. Some see them and say "what a shame". Well, treasure is where you find it, but like most treasure...some cleaning up is required. I'll just post the after pics.

Hopefully I'll get $8-14/ea. for the first three (first one is damaged), $12-16 for the middle one and $25-35/ea. for the last three.

Yes, they are all road killed animals. 3 mink, 1 raccoon and 3 grey fox. They would have been left to rot on the side of the road, but I know how to care for them and I'm not one to pass up a good renewable resource, for gas money, if nothing else.

Wow, that is really neat that you do that. When I see all the road kill in Florida on the side of the road I always think how sad, what a waste.

A few years ago, I accidentally hit a beautiful bobcat, me going about 55 miles an hour, he didn't make it across the road...sorry. I wanted to pick it up and take it to someone to skin it. I sat in the car and called several agencies to find out if it was legal to pick it up. I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone. I didn't want to take the risk and be arrested for having in the car a dead wild animal. As I drove away all I could think was how sad that in just a few hours the buzzards were going to be pulling him appart.

Treasure is where one finds it. Good idea....

Mind you now my trapping experience was in the late 1950's.

We had to square a coon hide on a board. Is that no longer the standard? You can case skin them?

Mac, I've seen some pictures from the oldtimers (no offense, lol), no, we don't square them anymore and haven't for quite some time. All case skinned now. Beaver and maybe badger are open skinned.

El Con, to bad about the bobcat, would've made a nice mount, rug or sale. Bobcat aren't legal in CT to have either, though I think the law will allow it to get tagged if the owner of the car hitting it wanted to. But a roadkill cat would have to be left there, or turned in to DEP
