Very interesting i didnt know they made stone coins so i guess your guess is incorrectZephyr said:"Rai stones are circular disks carved out of limestone with a large hole in the middle. The size of the stones varies widely; the largest are 3 meters (10 ft) in diameter, 0.5 meters (1.5 ft) thick and weigh 4 metric tons (8000 lb)."
A Yap island stone money coin? Except for having the hole in the middle, that fits your clues (and is also why you can't fit into the box.... ;-)
Now, there may be other stone money out there without holes, so some of you good at google-fu might be able to swoop in and snatch the win if I'm wrong.... ;-)

8000 pounds = 4 tons = 16 quarters = 4 dollars which is close to being equal to 2 British Pounds.
My guess is a 2002 British Two Pound coin.....
stop it that makes my brain hurt
As is stated beforivan salis said:think 8,000 pounds in sudan's money (foreign exchange rate for near "worthless" cash )---as in the old sudanese pounds unit -- 8,000 of which would be about $3.50 US --- there are other "pounds" besides the english one ---- based on this --- I'd say a 2007 2 euro coin 9:55 pm 12/25
