Brought my wife to a new spot I discovered. She found an 1853 seated half dime. A bucket Lister for her. I found an 1863 WR Elaisdell, Stoves Tin & Hardware store token from Lowell Michigan. If anyone has any information on the token please post. Also got a musket ball, three prong fork and a clad dime.

Sorry Nothing else Found on the Store, apparently the Only time he made the Paper :dontknow:
again I would guess it's an 1860's store Card, But I've guessed wrong Before :tongue3:

Zooming in on the date area I Think it translates to 1863

1863 W.R. Blaisdell, Lowell, MI,. Located on the Detroit and Milwaukee railroad, Lowell was a village of about 800 residents in Kent county, 139 miles northwest of Detroit. William R. Blaisdell provided residents with hardware and tin ware.

000mmm.jpg000nnn.jpg000ooo.jpgThis is a copper token . It has a Greek bust surrounded by 13 stars and date, 1863. On the reverse side it has "W.P. Blaisdell Tin and Hardware, Lowell, Michigan." Information provided by Gordon Hubenet indicates that this was a Civil War era token worth one cent, redeemable at this store. This was distributed by the store owner to try to get return patronage.

I don't know if you're familiar with the website, tokencatalog.com, but they have a very large catalog of tokens from the US and many other countries. I looked for your token under the Lowell, MI search and it's not listed. They usually like to know about new tokens that people find so you might consider contacting them. They're also good sources for researching tokens. The token editor for Michigan is Les Smith and his email is listed as [email protected] Great job by you and the wife!

That token is a nice find Triple D. Congrats.

Thanks to all of you for the research. I tried and couldn't find anything. Sorry I misspelled his name. I can see in the photo his last name obviously starts with a B. Sometimes my bifocals don't work well for me. Merry Christmas to all of you.

Dirty Digger Doug,

Very nice hunt - especially like your wifeโ€™s seated half dime. You are extremely fortunate that your wife likes to detect with you. Good luck with your hunts.

Walt
