Hi... I'm CJ and I'm a detectorholic! I just heard my first beep about 2 weeks ago and already find myself lying in bed counting beeps until the fog of sleep and those delicious dreams of treasure big & small descend upon me.I have no delusions about being cured (nor any desire, honestly). I look forward to the support of this great group!

I can't believe the wealth of information and experience I've already found here. Thank you all for your sharing and acceptance.

Welcome to TN, but I warn you, this is very addicting hobby. Before you know it you own couple detectors and your wife looks at you funny when you show her the junk you found. Wife will complain when you tell her your going detecting AGAIN..But when you give her a gold ring, and especially a diamond ring you found the complaints usually disappear....

Welcome to the best treasure forum on the net. Just keep reading and dreaming about all that treasure, but do not let it frustrate you when it looks like everyone else is finding all the good stuff and your not. Keep in mind there are over 40,000 users which equals a lot of detecting. You will never be able to cover that amount of ground in you life. The key is research, research, research and luck.

Thanks for warm welcome. YES, research...found I had 26 tabs open on my browser during one late night session last week. I need to spend a bit of time figuring how to do map overlays. I've already found a good number of historic maps.

And for the record, no wife to worry about/bother me and my cat says it's perfectly fine to start thinking about another detector
