Okay
I am just getting back into MD, I had the top of the line Garrett that was available in 1980. It has since grown legs and ran away ::) (when my house got burglarized years ago) I am now looking at the GTI 2500. And want to order the Treasure hound eagle eye and a small 4.5 coil besides the coils that come with the deal I can get. also is
Garrett GTI 2500 Metal Detector With Eagle Eye Depth Multiplier & BONUS! Pro Accessory Package & Garrett 4.5" Scorcher Coil for GTI 2500 and GTI 1500 #22197 for $1,231.95 a good price?

Can any one give me any pro's and con's I know it's a lot of money to spend. But I had a Garrett before and really kinda like this unit.

What can I expect with the advanced technology's of today as to the technology of 1980?

Also where can I go in So. Cal or Ariz?

I live close to the border but DO NOT have desire to go to Mexico.

The Treasure Hound is for really deep and large caches. If you're Hunting for those alot you should get it. If you're just coinshooting, relic hunting, or jewelry hunting the standard, large, and sniper coils should be enough. Remember, the 2500 also has an all metal deepseeking mode. Hope this helps.

With the Package special that is going on right now you'll get a 12 imaging coil for free and a carry bag and Garrett headphones at no extra charge. I also throw in a Sabretooth digger and treasure pouch. With that plus the eagle eye and the 4.5" coil I can better the price you quoted , essentially adding in the 4.5" at no extra charge also. Please let me know if you are interested. You will thus get everything you need to hunt with.

To bad you couldn't find one at a local rental company and try it out. Better yet, rent the White's version also and compare them? (I think the White's is about half that price.) It might be that neither is suitable for your needs and you might be better off with a pulse induction MD, depending on your intended uses?

Get a used Master Hunter CXIII for about $300 (sometimes that includes a small coil) and add the Treasure Hound to it. The TH doesn't use the Imaging feature anyways and neither does the 4" coil. It'll do a lot of what the 2500 does at a fraction of the cost. Detection has not improved a whole lot in the last 10-15 years. Just more bells and whistles.

I have a CX3 and I do know it talks to yeaaaaaaa.
I bought it in the early 90s and at that time it was one of the best detectors.
I have used it maybe 3 times since 15 plus years.....
I thought I lost it and was going to get a Gti2500 but I am glad I found it in my brothers garage along witha 1968 Gibson les paul that I thought was lost also lol...
I am glad that detectors have not come a long way in all these years?
Maybe I will find time and use it for the forth time lol.
Is there really much of a differance with the CX Plus and my CX3???????Maybe the CXs are made better then they used too?JohnnyT
