Why do people post certain things?

Look at it this way. We all belong to an exclusive club called Metal Detecting. We are unique in that respect. Not everybody get out to detect when they want to for various reasons, snow, rain, health, family, work etc.. When we do get out, we want to share our experiences with the other members of the club. These experiences can be good, bad, happy, sad, funny, scary, educational etc...

This particular forum has a posting spot for almost any type of posting you can imagine and in some cases, have not imagined yet.

Not everyone will agree with everyone else, that is human nature, but we respect the views of others and if we can agree to disagree.

So, read the posts, be entertained, have a laugh or learn something new. But most of all ENJOY the hobby of Metal Detecting, that is what it is all about.

Happy Hunting.

to me its all about the enthusiasm of the hunt. a lot of newbies want to be a part of the camaraderie on the forums and post their finds, no matter what they are. i say, "post away!" even posts about clad add to the enjoyment of the forum and the hobby. if you don't enjoy those posts, just skim over them and leave them for the folks who do like to read them. ........just my 2 cents.

Great points everyone, Grimm you have to remember some members are new here, so if they find a corroded pop top its a great find for them, due the same amount of praise that a gold 2 dollar piece is due. Its not about the finds its about the family, sharing both the ups and downs, items that break your heart and items that make your heart skip a beat.

Its a family Grimm, people will help you when ever u ask for it, they will lend u a shoulder when times are bad (believe me i know this as fact) or share a big hoorahhh when times are good.

The finds don`t matter, its the camaraderie we all share, the love of this hobby we all share, no matter the find.

I'll put it to you this way.If I waited till I found something really good or unusual, you wouldn't see a post from me in todays finds 'cept maybe once a year, since all I find is junk and clad usually.I post my finds when I find a little something extra usually. The last one was my first half dollar and my first "pair" of earrings. The one before that was a small silver bracelet and a blue finger light, once I found a goat's head and posted that. :) So although I don't post my finds every time,I do post my finds when there is a little something extra, not much, just a little.I like looking at everyone's finds regardless of how small or large they may be.It's all about people with the same interests enjoying each others company via treasurenet. It is like a big family here sometimes, least it feels that way to me.Anyway that's my 2 cents,H.H. and looking forward to your posts.By the way, watch out for that guy eddekalb,he's a troublemaker. ;D :D ;D :D ;),not really!

I have seen some folks post there stuff only to find out it was a very good find with the help of other lookers, as I am sure all of you have

Hey Grimm, we really are a family here - warts and all. We argue, laugh, cry, plan, pray, and sometimes even exchange gifts together. And just as with any family, we accept the glamorous with the plain and the rare with the common. I tend to be the crude, rude, common type myself, and so be it. Party on, dude, you're a welcome part of the family and we don't care what anybody posts as finds...it'a all good and we all wanna know what's been found. Hope to be seeing your stuff soon...whatever it may be.

lmao

I work all day, from 5am till some times7,8,9pm. doing all kinds of things to put bread on my family of six's table with two headed to college in the fall. I do this everyday cept the Good Lords Sabath. When I get breaks the only thing I seem to have time for is MDing some site as long as it's within a couple hours drive, and that's only during the warmer months. TNet is more than just a place to show off our finds. It's a place for freinds to gather and share in a common conversation about our daily trials and tribulations both good and bad. And for many of us in the north it's the only place we can experience what we used to have before kids and work etc...a life outside of our daily grinds. TNet is a school for us to learn from, or to teach others in. TNet is a campfire for us to gather round. TNet is a vacation spot where tropical beaches offer up shipwrecked treasure stories or argonaut 49ers long lost gold mines are unearthed, even in the winter. Or a place to relive the civil war and still have time to figure out the oldest whatzit puzzle. Why post anything average ?

Why then should we wake up in the morning or rise from bed ?

If you end up seeing a user name of Nail Queen it will be me ;D. As I've said before, If I have to dig it you have to see it. ;) Sometimes you just want the BIG one, "Unless you dig the junk?" , where is it? Lets see your stuff "No matter what it is :o!

A nail 200 years old that one person heated, hammered and nailed into my floor................. :o :o :o :o :o SWEET!

Silly................................But whats wrong with that? ??? I'm in it for the FUN and anticipation.

Good luck to you.

You know....after I dig a pull tab, I sit back and wonder...was it a Mt. Dew or a Papst Blue Ribbon Beer...and i know someone on here can tell me which one it came from...LOL....I like seeing em all....

Glad to get everyone talking!

One's man's trash is another man's treasure I guess.

I remember in my dorm room years ago I found a TV guide from 1976 and an old Mt Dew bottle cap with the cork inside and their old logo of a hillbilly blowin' on a jug. I thought those were totally cool, while others might have thought they were crap.

Good Luck and HH to all!

Gee if everyone only posted Treasure in TODAY"S FINDS there wouldn,t be much to read. Most mders don,t live in locations where real treasure is found and most are just enjoying what they find.Anyway i like to see all the odities and unusals that members find. Its about having fun, well thats my opinion.
