Detector(s) used
Minelab xterra, Whites DFX, Notka Makro Simplex. Folks the price don’t mean everything, the question is are you willing to put in the time to learn the machine, experience will pay off I guarantee it.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Seriously any money spent is hard earned, regardless of any and all companies that pollute YouTube and other sources on the information concerning testing theses machines
Look I dont care if your brand loyal, but beta versions or machines put out on the market prior to significant testing is completely wrong.
Has nothing to do.with future updates, some corrections updates cant fix. Its like anything else folks are you so driven by the compensation that you can't give constructive criticism on the product your pushing to the public so much that your deceiveing the custmer, shameful.
Look if you dont understand this your just ignorant of buying anything, as the old saying goes said you deserve what you get. Treasure.net the awesome forum you have i suggest this I wouldn't recommend or suggest to any special so called testers on any platform, it does you and everyone else a disservice, my opinion. In ending if you can't be honest then its over, Merry Christmas.

Hi. That's exactly what the Algoforce E1500 was here. I got an early one and it was like a prototype rather than finished product. In fact it was an utter insult to the intelligence by the time I was finished with it. I fell for the idea it was made by an ex Minelab employee who understood the public and learnt from Minelabs mistakes. 😂 yeah right!
Oh there were shills and influencers on other forums gushing over it and promoting it but make 1 criticism and they shot you down like you were the problem instead of the machine. That thing was released way too early with too many issues and they dam well new about them too. One issue was the shaft assembly, I had to re-straighten it every few minutes, the coil going cockeyed all the time. It was garbage. They did address it later but I had an unfit for purpose stick. I complained to the manufacturer, his reply? Buy a new propper shaft assembly off of him for $250. You had to love all the gushing by the influencers over the discrimination 🥰 which when I trialled it, it was useless amongst iron and steel junk, in fact it was useless amongst any junk!
I don't know if its been upgraded but mine was useless. Personally id like to grab those by the necks who were influencing it and shake them like a cartoon character.

Did you get something that wasn't what was supposed to be next best machine?
Or is this just a spiel on every machine that's over a certain price point?

I get you on the testers, same old/same old. Many produce a wheelbarrow full of cow floppers.

Then there are certain testers that state a program, and actually dig targets.

The British bloke by the name Gary Blackwell that totes the Deus detectors.

So let's start there, what do you find so deceiveing about his testing?

I like to hear your opinion, please.

Nope, I see the so called testers online claiming certain things, but then numerous educated and veteran users don't come up with the same results. Why is that remember these other folks aren't loyal to anyone, point is most people don't know anything g but turn on and go, they aren't experienced in tones and voices etc. So very simple whos the professional testers and are they unbiased, unfortunately in some cases they aren't doing the ultimate testing , saying oh its ok or updates coming thats not good , dont believe me spend some time with reputable testers online, thankyou.

I dont care if the machine cost 1 dollar or 1000. I call it deception or deceiving along with 2 or 3 guys that test for notka, minelab and xp. Stop being stupid, if you want to but a machine do it, most people don't use them to thete fullest potential, most want to turn on and go. But for heavens sake it must be able to separate accordingly. Im don't with it I wouldn't bother buying anything just because a paid marketing person said so. Watch actual experienced users showing you the screen and true field test, Garrett unfortunately remains last because they want to, but gee whiz dont insult buyers knowingly or not. I buy what I can afford..

Mostly They are all full of crap.... I think , apart from possible backhanders, most of them are just narcissistic ...
I mean i got swept away by the first Equinox range,, and have stuck with my original purchase? and now the utubers would have me believe that the new expensive 900 version,, can somehow get better results while running my old coils ?? It's nonsense IMHO.. and i love absorbing the fanboy spittle/hate....

Here is a classic example of people lying about a product.
I worked for the place in its last days.
The owner was right into electronics and even made a detector.
Anyway in the businesses last days he came up with a device that increased and reprocessed the detectors signal. The device, the Superfix, was supposed to increase depth but not by actual power into the ground but by sorting out the weaker sound of targets that didn't typically make it to your earphones but existed like a ghost in the electronics. I'll cut a long story short.
He had testers that were exaggerating things, posting pictures of holes dug using the Superfix at ridiculous depths for the target sizes. Posting here and there on various forums how awesome it was. People were queing up to put their names on the list to buy them and buying when they were released.
I tested one but unfortunately the boss thought I mustn't have known what I was doing and went with the testers feedback. My feedback was it had big issues and wasn't doing what the testers were saying it did. He actually looked pretty p#$d off with my results.
Here's an example of one of their crap posts. The ones with the pictures no longer exist as a few of the forums from back then folded.

Here's when people started to realise it wasn't what they had been led to believe.

The problem wasn't the mass production issue, the problem was it never did do what those testers claimed it did. Unfortunately the boss sunk all his money into it and it was the beginning of the end for his business. It actually ruined him.

I watch some guys if I am in the market for something (every 5 or 6 yrs)
A new version/model will be promoted.

The testers will froth the foam till many are salivating to be first on the release.

Then the cursing starts as the units aren't even produced or delayed.

I give it a year to 2 yrs to buy anything.
By then the regular folks have used them, commented on them.

Disappointments in something? Not really. Maybe too many features for my capabilities. I don't need tracking, or any of those features.

For testing, going out find a target. Grab the other machine and see if it picks it up.
Head to head testing tells if one is better or the same.
This shit that's under boards, boxes, blocks, foam? Kind of reminds us of the sales pitch off the back of the wagon.

Well you agree then, its like getting a second or 3rd opinion even for medical reasons. Look ill take the word from experienced users in totality, not just picking a specific person, hell no. I take users more seriously than 1 so called tester. My god like it or not its not hard to fool or manipulate a customer, true.
Sick and tired see this, do that and from a company paid marketing person. Folks use you dam brain but most dont. As I said earlier most dont even understand the full capability of the detector, that doesn't give the company rhe right to mislead or deceive customers even at that. Detectors are marked up how much, speaking of manticore
and deus 2. Its all about research and development yeah sure.

Ah yes there it is again the tireless flogging of the 2 high end machines.

Probably a case of simple envoy of those that have disposable incomes.
Folks that just buy because they can, and will.
You're basically trash talking every person that has bought the machines.

So what, really?

You have watched these testers preform their tests, and listened to them.
I can come to that conclusion for the very reason you seem so informed about the subject.
Yet you know the result, click on, drive their view count up.

It's kind of like being a vegan going into a burger joint and complaining about the menu.

Meanwhile Click, Subscribe, and hit that like button.

Excuse pepperj, there you go again, assuming that I dont own 1 or both of those machines, do yourself a favor think before you post judgment. Typically in today's world. Sir this forum allows anyone to voice there opinions on the subject of treasure hunting without offending others. Im not one of dei etc, im not soft. But thankyou for your opinions offer more significant information to help users wes appreciate that.

You pose the original question, statement. I take my time to reply from actual inside the detecting industry with info and you can't even acknowledge me taking my time doing so. And no acknowledgement of others taking their time.
I think you just have a huge chip on your shoulder here and are a sooky la la loser. Im going to put you on ignore. Done, now go away and cry in your cot!
Then I ask you and everyone else, never ,ever claim to be an expert on giving advice, why its deceiving and frankly promoting a product that isn't truly tested. But then again most consumers aren't to intelligent they just buy , and the vicious cycle continues, guys just acknowledge being certified or wearing a company patch means very little. Customers depend on the testers to a certain degree isn't that fair. Users how many dont do any significant homework of thete own. Im different if its not fully primed and tested im not going to be part of the problem, thankyou

Ohh dear....
This topic went sour 'real fast' !!!....

why is everyone so touchy ??:dontknow:

First where did I assume you didn't own 1 or both machines.

Offending you or the membership?

Yes everyone can voice their opinions, but not at the expense of others.
When an accusation is cast over most then really what is purpose?

Now why would ever think you were a DEI ect..soft?

You evidently have a misconstrued preconceived understanding of what is been stated.

Though you seem to know the inner workings of marketing, and would never purchase unless it was full primed, so you place yourself above the rest. 👏
The belittling of most everyone that has purchased one of the said products, always goes over well.

I love that, @pepperj - can I use that in future discussions please?

I love when I stumble upon a thread like this! Now where's that popcorn emoji???

To be honest I'm struggling to understand why there's so much anger in this thread, too. It sounds to me like 49e12 doesn't like "testers" who may be brand ambassadors or paid spokespeople for a specific brand of detector. I can relate to that. But for me, I take anything I hear from those folks on YouTube or read from them with the proverbial "grain of salt". I know that they're doing their job, and I'm skeptical because their opinions are biased (or not even their own opinions at all). I don't let it bother me. (What actually bothers me is that they have those jobs to begin with - how sweet! At least Gary Blackwell seems to be a likeable character on Youtube, and I really like Merrill Kazanjian though I liked him more before he became an XP promoter.)

I bought my detectors after extensive research and felt I was well-informed, drawing advice from many many sources. I feel fortunate to be able to say that I feel really good about the metal detector purchases I've made. My trusty old Equinox allowed my son and I to spend a lot of time together in the fields of NJ when he was younger, and my Deus 2 was a carefully considered addition to handle specific conditions (heavy iron infested areas where I felt the Equinox couldn't separate). I still use them both in different situations, and I haven't thought seriously about any of the "upgrades" from Minelab. I guess the Minelab "testers" aren't suckering me into thinking I need a 900 or a Manticore.

I have no clue if these opinions help contribute to this thread, but I'm sharing them anyway.
And now for my popcorn.

You certainly can use the vegan/burger all you want.

One can post an opinion without throwing everyone into the same category.
I don't care how many zeroes people have in the pocket.
Most folks didn't get lots of $$$ by being frivolous with uninformed purchases.
The same goes for the person that squirrels away extra few dollars and then does a purchase.
Personally I put a lot of faith in the general user, and their posts.

I'm very interested in what Gary Blackwell has to offer most times.

Maybe because I have detected in England many times.

It's good to hear you're liking the D2, it seems to be getting those targets at the latest site.
Just wait until you have a year or 2 of time on the machine, it really starts to shine.
