For one I'm here because this was the last place I could talk about rocks and minerals without someone telling me I was wrong or banning me because of my "Views"

Meaning.. Most rock hounds (I'm not) have one thing in mind.. collecting and searching for rocks and stones then attemtping to sell them afterward.. Myself.. I was thrown into this unknowingly and found I have a tallent for the stones, and its only getting better..

Thou it wasn't always this way.. serveral sites have seen the tallnet and even elected to make me an admin.. but later removeing these admin rights on the grounds that I was putting to much info (unwanted) into what the rocks or stoens are or could be.

My goal at that time was to create a bridge between the scintific aspect of rocks and stones and the midaphysical side of them.. I'd have to say I'm 60/40 on this topic.. I want to know what it is first before I decide what it can offer.

Then I found out these other sites where banning me becude I can't make up my mind or that I'm not "technically" minded about the stones.. I just wanted to thank TN and the users here for offering me a chance to explain my views and actually allow me to voice them.

But lets make one thing clear, If your in the rock hobby just for getting rich.. you my have a long fall.. You should very this as learning experance and nothing more.. Thou persons like myself rely on what we talk about or find here. Because they want to know and make sure what it is they have found is correct.

Eventually they will use these stones for healing or within their rituals as I do.. So heal me bridge this gab.. arent we all the same and after the same thing?.. Learning what we have found and that it has value to us and thats all that matters.

I'm here because it's one of the first forums I participated in.
Gems/rocks is my main interest, so I stay mostly in this area of the forum.

You must have had bad luck with the rock hounds.. I can't say I know many who do it for money or selling rocks.
I know a couple, sure, but only because they have a business related to rocks also.

Funny you say that about getting rich. I see a lot of amateurs trying to make money on rocks; a lot of them fail.

EU you said it.. I just wanted to let those know that anything "hobby" related is a hard live to make a living at.. So best learn to enjoy what you have or find.
Thanks for you support.

I am here cause I love all types of rocks. From the start to the finish and every thing in between. I have collected rocks since I was a child. Just in the past 5 yrs have I got into artifacts. That today is my true passion. I went today hunting for them and brought home all kinds of rock types. I dont just collect the artifacts I collect them all. And you cant make a living selling rocks or artifacts. If I sell something I am happy it has gone to a good home and hope they enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks, rock

I guess I was feeling low a few days ago becuase I did a search for my older posts here and other sites.. may have been removed (not because of me) and others have edited my older psot to suit the forums needs.. Yes I don't have a home computer so typos are rampent. I do and say what I can when time allows..

typos? never notice or cared. like reading what you and everyone else has to say. I have collected rocks most of my life based on what they looked like never knowing what they were. in my old age I have gotten interested in what they are and thats why I'm here. I don't even know how to tell the hardness! I have sold some but only if I have others that look the same. My father did good making cabs for jewelry but didn't make a living at it. He just liked doing it. As for healing or rituals I don't know but would like to know more. They speak to me. They are old and have much to tell and one of the reasons I have always picked them up. Many thanks to this site and everyone on it. I have learned a lot in the short time since I found this site!

True, I don't bother to check hardness either.. I think I try to stay focused on the colors which intern leads me to just a few simple and basic stones. After all most of the stones/crystals I help ID are used by those who need these stones for their rituals.. The most common stone/s I guess.

I just like to dig in the dirt. Started when I was little, and never stopped.

The NA Indians seemed to find the best rocks to make their tools with and the colors are super also. So for me it is the best of both worlds. Also the designs they used in stone to make their lives easier. I will show you some I found last week, notice the colors.
