I have a theory that Captain John Mosby has the key to finding the Beale treasure...let me explain.

The legend behind Mosby is that he led a daring raid to capture Brigadier General Edwin H. Stoughton. In doing so, Mosby found a stash of treasure that the union has been stealing from confederate families. So he took the treasure, and headed back to the south. But somewhere along the way, scouts reported a Union force in front of them. So Mosby and a trusted lieutenant went and hid the treasure between 2 big pine trees to come later. Then yada yada Gets old, more yada, dies, and finally no one knows where it is.

Here's my theory. While Stoughton was pillaging homes, he pillaged one of the miners who helped get the treasure for Beale (I don't know his name I found out from my dad who was told the story by a guy there). Stoughton realizes he's holding the key to a bunch of treasure and he holds on to it. He gets paranoid about someone finding out and hides it in his tobacco pipe with the rest of the treasure. He gets captured, the treasure including the pipe is taken, and here we are now.

If we find the Mosby treasure, we find the Beale treasure. who's up for it?
