Who's the half-dime now ?? Pics from some june digs.
I posted a few days ago about my last couple of weeks, I didn't include any pics tho', cuz' I was a little too lazy(aka, busy digging holes). So, I scanned in the coins that I didn't show earlier(The "V" nickel, barber, and a couple mercs, couple IH pennies), and included some that I've gotten in the last few days. I am doing really good on the silver count(39, without including silver nickels). Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll have hit 100.
Went to my neighbors yard yesterday for about a half an hour(it's a small yard), after I went fishing, The first signal I dug was a wheat(40-something). I ended up getting wheats on the next two holes as well, all 40-50's. The next coin was a 1907 IH, so I figured that things were improving. I was actually starting to sweat pretty good, so I decided on one more hole, and then I'd come back later. I hit a very strange zinc/silver signal at 4", usually a wheat. I was thinking that would be a good end to an alright hunt, so I dug it and out popped an 1841 "O" half-dime. From what I have seen these appear to be pretty rare, and this is my second one, so I was pretty stoked. I have ended up with two of these in less than a year, I'm hoping that maybe someday, halfdime will share the title with me !! Needless to say I'll be back at her yard ASAP.
1st-4th pics, the IH pennies, the "V", and some silver
5th pic, my 2-week accumulation of mercs
6 and 7, the barber(my first of the 25 cent variety)
8 and 9, my second half-dime
