Who shrunk my wet-suits ?????

I plan on dredging sat.- morning temps.38 warming up to around 70---so off to the shed i go dragging out 4 wetsuits to chose from all are lg. (or at least used to be) now look i'm not the same 150# lean, mean ,fighting machine i once was -----but i havent put on that much (i know your wife probably says the same thing) i'm not going there (you have to chose your battles wisely and that one is not worth it )!!!!!!!!but back to subject at hand ---i could not even get 3 of them half way on -and that was with my 2 sons and wife helping!what gives?why have my 3 best suits shrunk so bad?i mean a LOT..... the thicker suits shrunk the worst,even my hood and i know my head hasn't grown.....and it's not just me ---my youngest son 12 and small for his age (and thin as a dime)had a hard time getting in it.and its a large !!! but my light wieght thin suit (also a large) still fits o.k.? what is the remedy for stretching them back?i wondered if i wet them them put them on would it work?OR would i wet it wrestle it on (like trying to shove a box-car up a gnats a$$ ) and be trapped forever .this would be hard as two caddalac payments. and this source off many years of laughter for my wife and kids!!!!!!!she said if i try it she would have her finger on #9 (as in 911) and my oldest son thinks he can retire from the videos .and to be totally honest after finding skunks my last two outings (looking for new spots)i don't feel lucky. so please tell me your thoughts on this ,and if i decide to try -------my oldest son will gladly ship you the video for #19.99 plus shipping and handling-for the full length, and for an additional #19.99 you will recieve footage of the acual 911 call with behind the scenes extras....

EZ to fix--just put in the bathtub over night with some suit kill the stink/dawn or joy soap. The miracle will happen the next day when they are hung and dry off a bit as neopreme doesn't stretch too well when dry and once rejuvinated by water(and walking on it to force water into dry cells) expansion you are good to go!! unless that is the beer/booze and righteous steaks have accumilated in undesireable places. Then a few weeks of abstanince(never done it so don't know if the spelling is right) but put the pork chop and beer down and slowly back away from the table till your able ,talcum powder or panty hose will slip'r on easier too--tons a au 2 u 2 -John

Once Coors or Bud has manipulated the fabric, even chones (underwear) shrinks and soaking doesn't do any good.

one of my work buddy's favorite sayings-----------theres a pork chop and biscuit in every can! going to try soaking ,the 7 mil. suit would be nice,if not the thin will have to do for now -cause i'm going in the morning NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have been waiting to get in my hole for a while now -i don't go to this spot unless my buddy is with me -it's our spot and out of respect i or we don't go with out the other.there's a rightious looking drop zone that has been waiting for us-last time the snakes were to bad,maybe we can hit it before they get too bad.if not least i got a new snake bite kit!this place is not as good as takodas but it has some very good color and a few decent nuggetts. maybe we can have a decent day and make ole' t proud!

Before storing the suit for the off season try a good soak and cleaning . Then dry it good. Next, stuff it with newspaper to keep the thing from shrinking too much. Also, you can try to stuff the legs in a slightly bent configuration and form them as true as possible to your leg- then rub a thin coat of silicon over the knee area where they tend to wear so bad. I won a wetsuit at a club hunt and it was marked XL. I couldn't get it over my calves! I think it came from the land of little people wherever that is. gave it to my skinny son-in-law and he couldn't get it on either. I think it went to the dump? Monty

If you're REALLY into the wetsuit thing, as I was in the 70's, you might try something I knew a few guys to do. Make casts of your legs.... like dressmakers do for dresses. Then, while the suit is warm (sun) and pliable, stick them into the legs. Next time you dive (dredge) they will be ready. Over the years, the casts may (snicker) shrink. Then, the only thing you can do is buy a larger suit! TTC

I weigh 195-200 lbs and I wear XXL wetsuit..... The best way to fix your wetsuit problem is to put it on EBay or Craigslist and buy another one that fits. Talc powder and nylons helps with a suit that is a little tight but still fits, if your having trouble getting it past your hips you will need another suit, yours will never be comfortable.

Have you considered just "toughing it out" and dredge in Speedos ? I believe you will find that even the Speedos will suddenly have more room after a few minutes in the water . "Wet suits We doan need no steenkin' wet suits."

The Colorado river is pretty darn cold south of the Hoover dam, I have been in it, it would be a lot more comfortable in a wetsuit....I plan on retiring in that area in a few years myself and look forward to hunting there......

hoser your still the MAN ! even if you've tried the pantyhose trick. you guys will get a laugh out of this...today went dredging in n.ga. temp was 73 -the water was not to bad (still gets a little cool,after a couple hours)wound up dredging in underwets!it's about as close to speedos as i dare go. got a few looks by passerby's but who cares! i got some good color,and 15 gal. of cons to go !!!!!

You can get whats called Hot Skins (Henderson Dive Wear) from Keene for right at $40.00. Makes the wet suit slide right on and off. Thin layer of Nylon and Lycra, suit goes on under the wet suit.
