Good evening T-Net Nation-
Tried out a new piece of woods this afternoon that borders a small pond and swamp. Good signals were quite scarce. Most of the solid signals were lead, shotgun shells, and the occasional bottle cap. Finally came across a booming high tone on a slope overlooking the water. Intact shoe buckle!

That was the highlight of the day. The buckle is in absolutely beautiful shape and cleaned up nicely. Thought it was worthy of a little "red carpet" treatment

On a 1-10 scale of coolness, I give 15. Awesome find!

Nice job Silvermonkey :) Thanks for sharing with us

That is a wonderful buckle and in great shape. You must have a nice collection of buckles by now, as I think I recall you posting some others over the last year or so. Congrats. Hope some other early goodies show up there.

Thanks to everyone for your nice comments! Over the almost 10 years of detecting I have been lucky enough to find a bunch of complete shoe buckles. I would guess the total number is somewhere around 12-15, not counting just frames. They are absolutely my most favorite relic to dig up. Each one is a little bit different. That makes it fun.

Usually the pin on the few I have found is iron and rusted. Yours appears pristine, like the rest of the buckle. What a wonderful find!

Apparently it was just too sexy for the shoe.
Congrats on the recovery

Simply a fabulous buckle- Congrats fellow Mass hunter!
