Who likes MXT's pin-pointing ear splitting volume loudness?
I've owned my MXT for over five years now and have to say it's really a great detector. My beef has always been with the pinpointing ear splitting volume. Can't understand why White's engineers didn't/don't engineer a limiter circuit or even a volume control to take care of this "ear-itateing" nuisance! I've always found it necessary to use my volume controlled headphones because of it. There are a lot of times that I don't really want to use headphone but really don't want the whole world looking at me when ever I pinpoint a target. Summertime in Florida, with headphones, really makes for sweaty ears. With the display for pinpointing you don't even need the sound at all! What cha think? Is it just me "whining" or a problem that could/should be resolved by White's?
