Only spurs I know of made with the "jingo bobs" in that style are Buermann Spurs. You might
look into some images on Google and see if you can match them up.

August Buermann made spurs into the late 1800's, and he also used that same, multi-sided
style of rowels.

Buermann was a very popular maker but,Many many different makers used "Bobs",they were Vogue all the way back to the Californio's (1840's)Several of my everyday working spurs had them(I never liked to wear em around people...as I always felt like a "Dude")I liked em for the very reason they were invented....to sooth cattle while driving em,and broke the boredom, listening to them

here is a pair of "Mexicans"

My catalog from about 1960 sold these spurs as children's spurs for $3.95. For another dollar they could be had with nickle plating. The straps were an additional $1.50.

I would like to see an image of those spurs.....I am quite doubtful these are those........I guarantee the example I posted is not a children's spur...or cheap

I instantly thought of Sears and Roebuck, but I don't know if they sold brass spurs. I have a pair out in my man cave that were off the Shandon homestead, and those particular spurs were sold by Sears in 1906 for .85 cents. Same rowel, but are more of a cast iron/pot metal of some sort. No jingle bobs either. Kuger, I've never owned a pair with jingle bobs, but was told those were to lock the rowels if a horse was inclined to buck. However, I never went far enough to try that because I didn't own any, but it kind of made sense to a kid at the time.

Diggummup, did you only get one spur, or a pair? Just wondering, actually you only need one. if you get that side of the horse going, the other side will follow along. :icon_scratch:

No, I only found one spur. It was a hoarder house that I had an invite to dig through and this was found under the mess on the floor in the bedroom. I looked and looked for the other one but just couldn't find it in all the mess. It was found about dead center of the first pic on this thread- http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/garage-sale-finds/347159-hoarder-house-pics.html

That is good info! If they are made by Sears that may make them have more value too them.
