Crusader,

Have you looked at the bottom of the figure? maybe you will find info on the bottom.
IE date, manufacture number, series number or even a name of a company.....

Let us know

OD

Yeap looked at the bottom whilst cleaning.

Have a look, it reminds me of the backs of Victorian cast Horse Brasses.

Ok stop playing with them crusader ;D its puss in boots, cute how you show your finds with an american coin indicator, My girlfriend left me a Quarter to. got my ticket and flying out on the 7th for a few months. nice find

Honestly not playing (this time ;)). Why do you think its Puss in Boots, have you seen similar? In all my years detecting & collecting, I have never seen anything remotely similar.

Could be an old version of Puss in Boots but I don't think its over 200 years old. I would guess Victorian but maybe even 1920s??. Its a strange thing to have in Brass sitting on your mantel piece next to your Staffordshire flatback??

I gave it 'find of the day' over my 17th century Seal Matrix & thats saying something 8)

Dick Whittington's cat?

Dave.
I also thought of Dick's cat, after all he/she wears a Mayoral looking chain. The real Dick Whittington was the Mayor of London, three times.

could it be just an ugly brass ornament when i visited my nana in N. Ireland back 12 years ago she had a bunch of ugly brass characters around her house. i dont know how long she had them but i can tell you she was born in 1906 and passed in 1996
