Ok gotta vent here. Seems like every since the Divinci Code came out, every treasure, every mystery, anything unexplained in the world is attributed to the Templar. Who else is sick of hearing about this overrated group of men who supposedly was smarter then the early best minds of the world and found their way to America after finding the Ark of the Covenant and even the Holy Grail. First their is no evidence of the Ark at the mount temp, and the holy grail has no historical fact whatsoever. The bible dont mention nothing pertaining to a holy grail. Jesus drank from a cup at the last supper. Is that the evidence of this marvelous life giver.... He also turned water into wine and drank with drunkards. Are those holy grail as well. Im a christian. Im a Freemason. I believe the bible not hearsay....Anyways, im just sick of hearing how the "Knights Templar" had this vast knowledge and immense treasures and somehow made it to the Americas and buried everything there. Despite ANY archaeological evidence people still believe that. The Curse of Oak Island and other shows say that thousands of Templar were unaccounted for..... Just like any war regular soldiers dissolve back in local communities. Its not uncommon. Look at every war ever fought. Do you think every man that fought for the Nazis were captured... Look at any war in history. Soldiers dissolved back in society. But lets say for conspiracy theorists sake, that they did have to leave France. Lets say they were persecuted so bad they had to flee the country. First they had to gather many ships together. Then they had to dig up whatever treasure they supposedly hid. Then, and this is the big question, with all the work of getting ships, supplies, and their treasures together, would they sail west to waters unknown. This was the 1300s. The worlds population was small. They could have EASILY went to the wilderness of Germany without sailing, or even if they did sail, why not go south to Africa... They would have been safe in most areas....

Again Im just sick of hearing how the "Knights Templar" are responsible for everything. I used to really enjoy shows on history channels among others, but every time they get in the story and they have no way to turn, its always the Templar....Sorry for my rant. Again Im a Mason and I am really starting to despise this whole Templar thing. If they were that great and smart they wouldn't have been wiped out. Peace and God bless.

PS Sorry I cant add a question mark to the end of my questions. The button is broke on my computer.

I edited this post just to add one more thing... Talking to a fellow treasure hunter he seems to believe that the Knights Templar storeis are true beacuse the "Sinclair" family and a gal with a strong British accent says it true.....Just because you had an ancestor who has myths around him dont mean you know he was a Templar... And a British accent from an old lady is not evidence to me.....Just wondering if anyone else seeing through this nonsense like me....

We've been kicking the Templar thing back and forth here for years now. I don't see it going away any time soon. I mean, how long did it take for the pirate treasure to lose traction? A few centuries, right?

An interesting part of the Templar theory (and maybe one better addressed in a different thread) is whether or not the Ark was even in Jerusalem for them to find. One theory is that someone hid it in Jerusalem well enough to fool the Babylonians (who dismantled the city looking for it) but not so well that the Templars couldn't find it a thousand years later; another theory is that the Babylonians, while literally tearing the city apart and interrogating anyone of importance in their search for valuables, found it and took it (and everything, and everyone) home with them. I find the latter possibility more likely.

Of course, the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethopia believes that it's in Ethopia thanks to Menelik I. Unfortunately the dates don't really work without divine intervention, but I'd love to see what they're hiding down there regardless.

the BEAUTY OF TREASURENET IS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT ANYTHING ..you don't want to ...like opening the ...beale cypher treasure ....to find out that many people have SOLVED the cypher ....so......where IS THE BEALE TREASURE if the cypher was solved ....? AT LEAST THE TEMPLERS were real and has documents that go back for centuries....so the bottom line is... if your sick of a treasure story...JUST DON'T OPEN IT....simple as ...PIE

The Templar seed was planted back in season 2 when they were still messing with 10X borehole when JHP appeared on the show with his theory about the Ark, Solomons' Menorah and the Holy Grail being in the bottom of 10X. Up until that time Dan Blankenship was convinced it was Spanish treasure and has several recorded interviews stating that. The Templars were mercenaries in the beginning, hired guns if you will, hired to protect travelers to the Holy Lands. They amassed a lot of wealth and influence/power with their banking system and usury fees. Over the years , they have been romanticized into devout warriors for Christ, when in fact their rituals and initiation were anything but devout. (according to the charges against them when they all were rounded up by the French King and the Pope at the time.)

Yes, I'm tired of it and like most people don't care who left the treasure ( assuming there was/is treasure left ) or what it might be for that matter. If the Templers have been to the island that doesn't mean they left a treasure. Just helps start the guessing of if they did what might they have buried but till they find something who cares.

Yea the whole Templar craze is total BS. Dont believe they brought anything over here. Never mind buried anything on Joke Island.
It is real easy for them to tie anything to the Templars as it is a vague area... thats why they do it.

I wonder if Scott Wolter auditioned for the Civil War gold show, that guy was born to be a tv host ! That's me in the green. ScottandMe.jpg

Sad part is I actually like Scott. I’d rather see him than the goof balls on Curse of Oak Island

I spent a better part of a day with him, very nice guy, professional, respectful. Can't be 100% sure but I think he's sincere in his believes that he puts forward on his show.

One thing I like about him compared to the other guys is his research techniques and he tries to validate these claims. He also tries to debunk stuff instead of getting everyone’s ideas in his head and running with it

What is this about CW gold show? Another thread to start soon?

I was watching hunting for hitler a couple of days ago and towards the end of the show, during a commercial break, I saw one of the lagina brothers talking. (don't know which one because his name wasn't painted across the screen) I thought it was just a plug for his show so only half paid attention. But he mentioned Civil War gold and that threw me off. This mention reminded me of it.

Another history channel show to last for years?

Another thread maybe.....with what has been revealed about the brothers, I don't think the thread will last long....

It would have been almost impossible for anyone on the run to hide in Europe. The laws were such that anyone who traveled had to have permission from the local governments, even more so then today.
The Templars didn't have to dig up their treasure or artifacts as they had it in plain sight in both of their headquarters, Paris and Cyprus. The Cyprus treasure was brought to La Rochelle in the spring of 1307 as the Pope had ordered the Templars to come to France for a meeting. Although only the Grand Master was to make the trip over 60 knights with horses and their entourage with 150,000 florins of gold and an undisclosed amount of silver and other treasures sailed to La Rochelle on what one historian mentioned were ten vessels. So in 1307 we have those ten ships and however many they used for their very lucrative wine trade with the British Isles already in a port they basically owned through an 1139 document from the French Queen. The arrest order for October of 1307 in France was actually issued a month earlier and would have been easily discovered by the Templars who would also have taken anything they could have carried out of Paris to La Rochelle.

As for religious artifacts, it is a fact that they were given total access to what was assumed to be the old Temple Mount in Jerusalem where they were said to have found several religious items including the Shroud of Turin, and a piece of the True Cross, which they carried into battle with them.
I agree with Dave that they probably never found the Ark of the Covenant as that went to Babylon in 600bc.

The holy Grail is another matter. Spelled in the French it actually meant Royal Blood and if one connects what happened to the Cathars and the 1920s and 30s research of Otto Rahn with what the authors of "Holy Blood Holy Grail" discovered it becomes easy to piece together the truth about the Grail stories. The key is, of course Montsegur. Don't forget the, Holy Blood Holy Grail, people sued Dan Brown, or at least attempted to, and if mistakes are found in their research (which there are) it was done before Al Gore invented the internet.

As the Curse of Oak Island people have said, it is true that thousands of Templars from France alone were unaccounted for, but the most important one of all who became the most wanted man in France, Gerard de Villers, was never heard from again!

So to make a long story short, some Templars did leave Europe with a large amount of treasure, some religious artifacts and the true story of the Holy Grail, arriving in North America during the summer of 1308.

Cheers, Loki

I thought it was stolen by a group of mercenaries with helicopters etc.?

Also what happened to the Ark of the Covenant of God? Now we go to the Holy Grail. I know where the Holy Grail is located and it is not at Oak Island. As a matter of fact there are two Holy Grails.

There's four alleged Holy Grails, but whose counting?

Whatever Holy Judea/Christian relics that may still exist, rest assured they have never been placed on oak island by anyone...

I always believed a few artifacts pasted through Oak Island on their way to Annapolis Basin which explains the coconut fibre!
