WHO DETECTS WITH THEIR SPOUSE?

I think my wife would rather poke her eye out with a stick ;D She went with me once, strolled around a little, then sat in the car for the remainder of the 15 minutes that hunt lasted.

BUT! She shows up like a vulture when I empty my finds out. She loves picking through that stuff.

That is the reason I picked metal detecting in the first place. We are empty nesters now and it is a great way to spend time together and enjoy the outdoors. I took her to an abandoned school with my old Bounty Hunter, and let her do the detecting while I did the digging. After the first couple of coins, she was hooked. 3 days later we were on our way to a Whites dealer near us and got an MXT for me and a Ace 250 for her. One key, on your first trip with her, go someplace that you are pretty sure you will find something. It doesn't take much, just enough to keep the detector beeping. ?I hope this helps, and I wish you the best with you and your partner.

i hunt with my spouse...her name is xlt....she loves it when i take her out...she give me all the jewelry she finds and never complanes...i got her a nice pinpointer that vibrates :D we don't leave home with out it...she sits in the back set and dose not back seat drive..got to love that.....the best of all she dose not mind if i sleep with the other woman i love...

My hubby thinks I'm nuts.... ?:-\

But.....he did buy me the two detectors and the digger and a pinpointer... ?;D

Sometimes he goes....and sits in the car. ?:'(

So....I decided to just go by myself! ?8)

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ;)

Sometimes my wife goes along as well. But most of the time I go alone because her work schedule is different than mine.

Dan,

over the years the woman has been on most of my hunts, but she never got into
swinging a detector.

She comes along and does her thing. I have mostly hunted for artifacts in the past,
hitting the woods, old buildings, and the like.

Has helped dig some of the bottle dumps, gets into it every now and then.

I have a bad habit of just wandering in the woods, it's nice to have someone along
to get lost with.

Also helps out and gets into the research on locations, thus has an interest on the
hunts; searching for history.

All in all, the woman is a good hunting partner. Keeps me out of trouble.

have a good un.........

My wife comes along if there is a place for her to swim (in warm weather). When we make it to the ocean beach twice a year, she brings a book & reads while I prowl the beach. Other that that, she usually sends me off by myself, but my cell phone does ring quite often on those occasions, usually at a difficult moment, like just as I get a really good signal. It's hard to detect with one hand while you are attempting to get a cell phone up under your ear phones. She gets excited when I make a interesting find. She has grabbed up a couple of rings I found, even gave a couple away as gifts. Oh well. It could be worse. She doesn't seem to mind the time I spend here on the forum. We are coming up on our 33rd anniversary in a couple of months & I have no intentions of tradeing her off.

My wife enjoys my finds (especially old coins and jewelry) but she's only been out with me one time. Just not into it. 100% supportive though.

Its handy to have the wife following along behind with her machine when I'm using a P.I. She provides the discrimination and is allowed to keep the modern coins.

My Fiance' goes with me quite often. She has been bitten by the treasure bug. The first time I took her she was hooked. She now gets on the computer and researches places around here we can go. When I get my White's Prizm V, she will be using my QuickDraw II. Right now she is my pinpointer. Metal detecting has also got us into coin collecting now. It's nice having a that she enjoys it as much as I do because I would feel bad for leaving her at the house every weekend. Warrior

My better half loves to go fishing, crabbing, camping, boating but has no interest in metal detecting. But on the rare occasion when I may get in a less than jovial mood, >:(, she'll suggest I go detecting.
She understands my addiction and I can't ask for anything more than that.

I've been married for 36 years and the only thing we do together is-well that topic is for another site, anyway I don't want her with me because I don't want her to ruin my day.

I will be soon.. my husband is in a wheelchair so I will be the main digger. But we hope it is something we can do together as soon as we get the Ace 250.

My Ol' lady can't take all the beeping in her ear... Now, if you could get the detector to play some Bob Dylan when it hit silver she'd be all for it... She goes to the parks with me occasionally with a good book and sits somewhere near by a long with our little sidekick Punky.

Too funny... ;D

Now that's an idea.....beeping in one ear and Dylan in the other! That'd work for me!

;D

I tried detecting with my spouse but found that a metal detector works better ;)

Nope, my wife isn't into THing at all. Her thing is dollhouses. This has greatly limited my hunts. It's great when couples can do these things together.

THANX FOR THE INPUT GUYS.
I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE MORE "COUPLES" DONG IT TOGETHER.
I THINK WOMEN DO CONSIDER THIS A MANS HOBBY.
WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT SOMEHOW.
ALTHOUGH I KNOW SOME GUYS USE THIS TO GET AWAY FOR A FEW HOURS OF ALONE TIME.
ITS ALL GOOD I GUESS.
