Who Collects Ink Bottles?

Beautiful inks, all! I just dug two this week, and I plan to write a short story of the finds that I've recently dug, just been busy condo hunting. Here's a nice emerald green "Carter's 1897" I just dug. Found it with a pretty teal colored Carter, as well as two other bottles.

Nice dog!

Nope, cat!

Those Carter's cone inks are so colorful!

Definitely a cat, dogs don't have vertical pupils, do they?

I have neither dog nor cat . . . I have an Amazon parrot. He has managed to break a couple of good bottles over the past 25 years despite my best efforts.

Carl, how did you train your cat to stay off your bottle shelves?

No kidding about the cats on the bottle shelves. I lost a good bottle or two due to pets over the years. :'(

Harry, I'd love to know how you take and edit your photos. Perhaps a new thread is the place to discuss it...but I'd love some tips. Do you photoshop out the the backgrounds and do a white fill? How do you backlight? What wattage? etc...

Thanks again for sharing such great examples with all of us.

Regards,

Buckles

Here's a golden amber cone ink. This one has no markings on the base, like the cobalt example. The third cone ink, the olive-green one, has the CARTER'S embossing on the bottom.

Wow they kinda have the color of those old glass insulators. Comfortable colors they are . Nice inks guys

Purchased today at an estate sale, has a bit of sickness on outside but overall very nice. You never know what you'll find.

I'll bite on this one! GREAT INKS HARRY! I dug this one about 2 years ago from a 1850's era privy. It is a Hover INK from Philada!

Did you have a post at one time telling how you shot your photographs ? It seems like I saw it once. Thanks. Have enjoyed your topic and post.

Yes, I think I did post something about my set-up. I've made a manual search and used the newly-available search feature here, but I cannot come up with it. I'll post something soon.
