That's the second CW collector in 2 years to be killed or severely maimed from unexploded ordnance that goes BOOM! in his own house.

Yep, the other in Chattanooga.

I helped when I got my shell disarmed and had watch two others get disarmed. I'm going to have to rethink this. Mine was scary...it hissed 140 year old air that had been in it since it was sealed. This meant the powder was very dry and could have been set off from the heat from the the drill.

It's not worth it! Take photos, and leave the darn ordnance with the bomb squad.

Oh...you gotta be there. A cannonball was my goal. It was a rush and continues to be everytime I mess with it and show it to school kids or anyone else I can get to look at it.
