Why is it funny? She is a Canadian. For a few years she tried to help her brother Stewart get into the American music business as a singer, but he couldn't sing all that well. She taught PE for awhile and has a large following of lesbians who think she's "cute." (I learned this when I went to a concert and found out the audience was largely gay women - that was an experience with all the catcalls and the retorts from Anne herself. And her first #1 hit was Snowbird. So there :P
