Whites V3i change history since 2010.... are they the same over that time span??

hi, was considering upgrading my old DFX to the newer V3i with the wireless headphones. I know I cant justify a new detector, so was considering a used one... can anyone tell me if they are the same as they were after initial release? or what changes were made over the last 10 years? Whites has never done any SW or firmware updates since I've owned mine, which I bought in May 2010. I believe the V3i is the same. It's a really fun machine. I'd say to get one if you can find a used one for say $700-$800. I'd not be looking to invest retail in one today though. Too much new technology.
