I bought this to be my 'let's see if you like metal detecting' metal detector, with the intentions of keeping it for a year or so, and then moving into bigger and better. Well, one thing I found out about myself is that living in Florida, the wet salt sands calls me on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this machine, like all the other single frequency machines, doesn't like playing in salt sand. It does great in the dry sand, and in regular soil, just not on wet salt sand. So, I'm selling it to fund the purchase of a new machine.
It works great, fast recovery, pinpointing is really good on it, the unit is weatherproof, and the batteries (2xAA) seem to last forever. I hunt at night, and the backlight on the display is an awesome feature.
The coils is the 10" DD coil, and it has a cover.
When I got the machine, it still had the little plastic cover on it for the LCD screen. It is still on it, but is hanging on by a thread, a combination of my thumb and the wind at the beach has caused it to lift.
There are a couple of minor scuff marks from being in the car, and the coil wire rubbing the shaft, but nothing really significant. I believe the warranty is transferable, but I do not have the original sales receipt.
I'd like $300 for the machine, including US shipping. Paypal F&F (or add the fee) preferred, but I will also take a money order.
I know I'm new here, but I'm also e-trading on ebay (1855 100% feedback), and have sold tons of stuff on photography forums (my other hobby).
