white ring with 33 stone on top

hey everyone,

i found a white ring today with 33 stones on top of it...
inside the ring there are 3 stamps : one that says 85 , one with a swann and another that is so small i can't seem to recognize what it says, it kinda looks like an @ , hehe



when i found the ring, it was in impeccable condition and totaly unscratched

Well, it looks like Platinum; the "85" should actually say "850" though. That is the hallmark for 85% pure platinum.
The other hallmarks, I don't know.

But I think a swan in a European hallmark; I am not an expert though, just a massive googler.

well, been googling too, and i think i found out that the swann is a french hallmark for platinum..
still not sure though.

If so, your ring is probably silver.

That would probably be Sterling Silver, regular silver is too soft and they do not make fine jewelry with it.
However, swans have appeared on other types of metal also which makes it extra confusing. Your best bet is to go to a jeweler; they will be able to tell you.

Either way flemishman, that is one great find!
