Yup...the Franklin is silver and the other is not. Silver is better...:icon_thumright:

I had a walker that looked like that, I thought it might have been cleaned with something bad at one time
 

YUP! 1951 Silver Half. If it was VF-20 would be $13. Expect less as condition not that good. Excellent catch. This is a forever keeper for your collection. HHHH
 

Cool! I am dying to find some silver. I am hitting pennies well within the date range, but no silver yet... Way to go!
 

First silver to my knowledge!! 8)

-a US half, quarter, or dime minted 1964 or earlier is 90% silver
-halves dated 1965 to 1970 are 40% silver
-nickels dated 1942 to 1945 are 35% silver (these will have a huge mintmark above the dome of monticello on the reverse)
