White Clay with Quartz (QUESTION)

Hey y'all! I've recently been exploring a new location and stumbled upon this bizarre concentration of bright white clay in a steep creek bank. The clay has somewhat of an ice cream consistency and is filled with hundreds of small pieces of Quartz. Could this possibly lead to anything significant (crystals, gold etc.)?

I've seen many a like. Decomposed quartz vein. Usually they yield nothing unless there is some faceting showing in the gravels but the contact zones occasionally have some interesting crystals and in areas where gold is known it is possible. All you can do is pan it for gold~ no gold then its not worth the time. Dig it out and screen a bit for any crystals if your looking for them. See a lot of that in the Georgia and South Carolina to the north.

What DD said. There's only one way to find out if it has anything interesting; sample it!
