Which Pinpointer to buy?

Hello everyone,
Hey, I have decided to purchase a pinpointer. I'm tired of being off center on some of my hits and digging to China only to find a rusty nail in the side of the hole. Not to mention the few coins that have scrape marks on them. I use an Ace 250 which usually pinpoints well but sometimes give me fits. I know everyone has their Fords and Chevy's but really overall, which one is the most reliable regardless of price? Can You give me your honest opinions? Thanks,

Whatever you get do NOT get one that detects only at the tip!! Some are that way and you will be disappointed IMHO. As long and awkward as it may seem I use the Automax and it does the job. Fact is on swallow targets (1" or less) I just rub it over the target area and it will bullseye the spot for me. It seems to detect to about 1 1/2" which is good for a pinpointer. Great for sweeping around a hole and through the loose dirt because it detects from the tip up several inches along the shaft giving you a large detecting surface.

Good luck in whatever pinpointer you decide on. I think you will soon learn to appreciate it.
