Re: Where's all the Fisher posts?

I'm still loving my F75.

Ground is finally thawed enough to dig and I went out behind the house and 1/2 mile from the nearest road I found a couple pieces of copper sheet and a 1/2" gate valve.

Old still in the area? ;-)

Also a 1974 Lincoln cent (whoopie! ::) ) , three short lengths of chain and a gozillion .22LR cases.

Hardly worth reporting.

Re: Where's all the Fisher posts?

OK Ian i will bite. I posted on General Discussion Forum about my COIN WISH LIST .
Well Saturday i hit a 1864 2 cent piece my oldest and today a Buffalo .Now i need a new list .
Back to the F75 Saturday at a park i hunted some in all metal then some with low disc + 92 sen.
Then turned sen down some to around 72ish and hit a Mec a Indian and the 2 cent .
Was it better with less chatter or dumb luck .Time will tell The Buffalo in all metal with a zipper at
the side of the hole 3in down Buff 8in down Mike

Re: Where's all the Fisher posts?

Our weather still isn't the best here, it snowed overnight & we still have some on the ground.

Yesterday, when we didn't have snow, I took my F70 out in the yard & tried DE mode, with disc rejecting iron & foil, & pulltabs notched out. I used 4H tones, threshold -1 & turned the sens up to the max (99). Wow! Seemed like it was getting short iron mineral beeps about every foot.

I ran it over my 5" deep clad dime buried half a year ago. I noticed the beep was longer, so it stood out amongst the others. I raised the detector about 3" above ground on the 5" deep dime & it was still sounding off! This is very encouraging, as my ground is highly mineralized & my lifetime depth record on a coin is 7". Say everyone, I've missed not seeing the Badger here lately. He did mention he'd be away for a month or so, but I've been wondering. :(

I'm just preparing to head out with the F-75 for some coin hunting. That should be interesting since I bought the 75 for prospecting. Nonetheless, after much reading here...I'm anxious to try for coins/relics again...it's been a long while. Hope to have something to to chat about soonest. :D

Jim.

I'll be eager to see the results. Not that there's much good prospecting to be done hereabouts but I am curious to hear how the F75 does. I suspect a detector is calibrated to respond to certain shapes (and resultant field effects) as well as conductivity and the F75 seems to be a real coin shooter. I stumble across bird shot quite often and that sets her chattering; hopefully you'll hit a nugget.

Good luck in the search for gold!

Re: Where's all the Fisher posts?

I'll make it a point to get out with my cz-6 and post my digs this next week.

Bloomin' thing is so sensitive, I always use my Tesoros...
But I'll dust it off and take an extra shovel when I go out!
