Where the hell is Lynx Creek AZ ?

O.k. so I'm in Prescott Arizona. I found Lynx Lake, and I found Lynx creek, but where exactly is the Day Use Panning Area? The signage sucks and all the campgrounds are closed. I could not locate a ranger or other park personnel to help me and I don't want to trespass in any way, not even on public land.

South on Walker Rd (by Costco) for approximately 1.5 miles. The turn off for the Gold Panning area and Lynx Creek Ruins is on the left side of Walker Rd. The sign is small and I seem to recall only mentions the ruins. Turn left off Walker Rd and follow the road down to the dirt parking area at the bottom of the hill. The creek and panning area is just downhill from the parking area. Hours are 7 am to 5 pm during the winter.

Better gold can be had at Rose creek. Go to Fain Park and follow the path/road on the west side of the park parking lot. There are two creeks coming into the lake. The northernmost one is Rose Creek the other is Lynx Creek. The path from the parking lot will take you directly to the bed of Rose Creek. Walk up the creek bed to the west until you see a likely spot. You may find others already prospecting there, it's a popular and productive spot.

Rose creek is privately owned. The owners are long time locals who have allowed free and open prospecting there for decades. You don't need to hide or be stealthy. Leave the area the way you found it (minus the gold) so we can all enjoy this special place in the future.

Get some good gold and don't freeze, it's windy and cold up there.
