When you see "ASW" what do they mean?

When you see "ASW" what do they mean?

ASW = Actual Silver Weight.. Got it..

So if I see a coin in the world book that is xxx ASW, is that measured in regular ounces or Troy Ounces? I would think Troy since that is standard for Silver..
