When will I notbie a newbie ?

I'd rather be a newbie than dead!!!!!!

See TerryC can give crap, as well as most of the rest of the posters, but look out for ticm... he seems to be able to shovel it pretty well! :D
Hmmm. I don't quite know where you're going with this one.... Maybe I've been "pooped" on and don't know it. Or maybe ticm has been pooped on. I don't understand that... but... you're entitled to your opinion. Instead of getting nasty, if that's the intent, just PM me. I'm ready. TTC

LMAO

"Perhaps batteries I've burnt.................one even mentioned lighting fires...............poison ivy across my face for 5 days (or 120 hours!!!)...................(shaft can take about 4-6 psi where preferated. I'm 245 which = $$$$)"

Hilarious post! As shown by responses, answer to your original question is "unknown" : )

Good, I'll start breathing again. I never want to "shoo" someone away from the hobby because I don't like his opinion, religion, looks, etc. etc. If all is well, then all is good! Tnx for the explaination, QM. TTC

When you dont have to ask...you will no longer be a newbie.

Only pulling your leg on the emoticons. I enjoy "passing on" what I know about detecting. I have NOT done it all and in 40+ years of detecting, I am FAR from finding it all. My endeavors are channeled towards coinshooting and, recently, gold prospecting and nuggetshooting. Just two pieces of wisdom for you... hunt WHERE PEOPLE GATHER and KNOW YOUR MACHINE! Everything else will fall into place. Take care, friend. TTC
Oh, emoticons! I get it now. Thought it was a typo, Terry. You should've thru in "learn the lingo". Although I think the emoticons are cute, Im not a fan. But many do say alot.
I was hoping more to mention the code of ethic comment on "lighting fires"I felt missplaced. I believe I read two different code of ethics listings on TN. One revised post by the administrator from 2006, another, the websites code. It was a no-no about starting fires. I mean, come on. Is shirtless, sporting my somewhat deflated spare tire ok? Or do I have to inform the property owner about severing his water/gas line? Although their flood/fire insurance will be there. (RELAX) Just joking!
(Sorry for the sad references. Not great with attchments or copy/paste and didn't want to "reply w/ quote" on a 2006 thread.) But I seem to mentally compiled my own code, from all.
Mabe I'm not the newbie I once was.
Thanks to you and all for your chimes,
Ray

I am not a real big fan of those little "adulterated smileys". Some DO say alot without saying a thing. As for me, if I am going to respond to someone's post, I try to give them the respect of a complete thought. But that's just me. Some use the smileys. I have nothing against that. I usually don't.... just to cover all the bases.... TTC
