It was a great day diggin! I was called up to check out a property for a homeowner before his new grass goes in. So I made a quick impromptu trip out there for a site survey. I very much wanted to find something old for him, but came up with nothing but dozens of fired bullet, casongs, fishing sinkers, and pulltabs. On the way home i stopped at an old-faithful for the last hour of daylight. Nothing super old (or at least I can't tell) .... But if you're going to find new metal, its always better when its shiny and yellow!!!
The three stone ring I think is newer, and stamped 10kp (karats plumb)
The smaller ring came out in two pieces
I hand sifted the dirt back into the hole looking for a stone, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Bummer. There are no markings on the band, and it has an older look to it. I look forward to getting it checked out by an expert.
It had been a couple years since I've dug any gold, and now three gold rings in just a few weeks, two in one day. Crazy how it works sometimes.
