It was a great day diggin! I was called up to check out a property for a homeowner before his new grass goes in. So I made a quick impromptu trip out there for a site survey. I very much wanted to find something old for him, but came up with nothing but dozens of fired bullet, casongs, fishing sinkers, and pulltabs. On the way home i stopped at an old-faithful for the last hour of daylight. Nothing super old (or at least I can't tell) .... But if you're going to find new metal, its always better when its shiny and yellow!!!

The three stone ring I think is newer, and stamped 10kp (karats plumb)

The smaller ring came out in two pieces :( I hand sifted the dirt back into the hole looking for a stone, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Bummer. There are no markings on the band, and it has an older look to it. I look forward to getting it checked out by an expert.

It had been a couple years since I've dug any gold, and now three gold rings in just a few weeks, two in one day. Crazy how it works sometimes.

Thanks for reading, happy hunting, and God bless.

I was at the jewelers last week with some old family gold to melt down for a ring for my daughter.
The jeweler lady sorted the stuff & I had what I thought were 2 identical sets of cuff links from my father and my grandfather - that I wanted the gold to pass down thru the family to my daughter in memory of her forebears.
The Jeweler lady showed me the markings and a few things were marked 14 kt gold including the grandfathers cuff links - (Grandfather and Father were Freemasons and wore the links to lodge meetings back in the day). But my Fathers Cuff Links were 14Kt PL which the jeweler lady explained to me stood for 14karat Gold plated... so they couldn't melt those ones down to go into the ring for the daughter!
I am just passing along what the jeweler lady told me - but hey even jewelers have been known to tell "porkie pies" (lies) before today!
I could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time nor probably the last.

Awesome 2 gold rings to break the slump! Nice! Congrats!
