Re: WHATZIT?

You found something in England from 1930 and kept it. I thought you guys didn't consider anything older than 18th century worth a second glance. :D

You have all the good stuff and we get pictures of a lead thingy from the 30's. Geez. What's next, a CZ ring?? LOL Just couldn't resist.

Who said I'm keeping it, I found it & thought it was in the right date range for the Tneter experts to ID. Never had one before so thought I might increase my knowledge before I put it in the junk pile.

I call 19th century modern. 18th century stuff is good in my books.

Re: WHATZIT?

Sorry Crusader, I just couldn't resist. I have a friend that hunts here in the Netherlands and in England and he won't even keep a coin from the 1800's. Just tosses them.

Just messing with you. ;D

Whatever the thing is, it does look neat. Lead???? from the 30's??

I knew you were messing with me. 1800's coins I use to toss now I have ebay. The only things I sell on ebay are the things I used to throw away.

Not pure lead, not really sure what metal it is.

you put them on the bottoms of the legs on the furniture makes the furniture easier to slide when moving them

Why would the bottom be decorated if it were sliding on the floor?

Re: WHATZIT?

Make pretty design in your wood floor. How hard is that to figure. ;D

Daryl

It's late and I'm bored and tired.

Re: WHATZIT?

To me it brought to mind the thumb latch that were on door handles in those days of long ago. The kind where you could open the door and slide the furniture in. Picture is just to explain not an actual match,PBK has that in his computer.

Cover for a picture hanging nail or screw

Cheers, Mike

There's a groove running all the way around the inside. Must have slotted over something but it would have to be the widest screw I have ever seen for that theory to work.
