The merc looks to have been in a fire poor thing is in bad shape.

The middle object looks to have been inserted in to something and it seems to be the Pepsi logo but I think it predates the logo of that shape. It may be for turning as the sides are beveled to the outside.

Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas to all! :hello:

Re: Couple of finds and a whatsit (Pepsi logo?)

I'm only guessing but I think it may be a Pepsi-Cola coin bank key.

That's also very similar to a Taegeukgi; a symbol widely used in Korea and featured on their flag. Where was it found? Was it subjected to the fire also? Perhaps there was something wooden and the end is a sort of tang.

Yes it could have been burned as it was found on an old dump site that is now a public park. I have found coins from 1895-1937 on this area. Lots of older (1900-1910) bottles as well.

I dont know. The Gonjji stone pictured came from the infamous "Found in a Football Field" thread that was solved by a Korean girl expecting a $50 reward but the very determined OP continued to drag the thread on as if it was still a mystery for over 3 years and 13 pages. The OP (Piggy) had members so confused and incombuberated that 48% voted they are not Gonjji stones. It was finally put in locked down forever. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,91892.0.html

The symbol on the stone came from the 2002 World Cup in Korea.

I am glad I missed that thread :)

It looks more like a pepsi logo than the Gonjji symbol with the gap between the drops...

Nothing new to add but it is pig iron I think not brass for sure. I am still in the opinion that it inserted into something due to the shape at the bottom.
