Re: What's your strategy??
Losing stuff to the other ppl in your life is not bad thing if you play the game right it really shouldnt matter much over all . The trick is not to Lose all of it and to not become a hoarder of junk that has no real value or meaning to you and them in this game of picking Junk . If i was at a point of not making money or just breaking even at this game i would have to think twice about why i was doing it . I stay away from large items because i dont have the space or the desire or money to support large scale storage of big items . If you have the means and money and time to handle large items for 1-10 years now is a great time to be buying large items like furniture or large art or metal . People are downsizing there homes and lives at lot which means grandmas old furniture ends up on craigslist or in yard sales more often then not . In the last few months Ive seen pinball machines , old good wood furniture , metal art , Signs . Lots of these things you wouldnt of seen 6 years ago in yard sales . I dont have the contacts or means to get rid of these things so i pass on them . The 700lb all metal table router proved to me that i didnt want to handle large heavy items even if there is profit in them . If i had a store front and a staff to handle these items i would be looking at them .
Any time i go out i can pull 0-100+ items . The price point im willing to pay means im never really losing more then $1-$50 of my kitty to a give away that may happen once every 3rd week . The rest of the items i gather will have profit to cover that minor lost of item . And someday I will have to sell all those items my mom scoops anyways . Since the rest of my sibs will not bother with more then some of the glass ware and jewelry . And I just plan on locking them in a room with the jewelry boxes and not let them out till they have it sorted anyways .
