Whats with that factory restriction in the keene power jet hose?

someone put a straight tip nozzle into the quick coupler, it shouldn't be there.
it fits inside the jet because its on the inside of the hose.
the coupler is glued on to the outside of the hose,
maybe the extra piece isn't glued hit it see if it moves
or boil some water to stick it in for a minute or so and see if you can pull it out

Here are some pic's of the union. I tried to remove the nozzle by smacking it around a little and pulling on it with vise grips. It is well and surely cemented in place. Does the cement look like the right stuff to attempt the boiling water method?

I was thinking maybe they used it to hold it tight when they were gluing the connector to the hose.
you can cut the lip off the nozzle and use it like that, you'll still get a few more plug up than if it was straight through.

if you cut the hose off and re-glue here's how to video of a 6" yours might be easier.

resolved

With only a couple hours of gentle coaxing I was able to remove the obstruction easily. :laughing7:

Ragnar , you might be able to use a tool called a hammer puller to remove that , if it's just stuck in there . It's a pretty common tool , I'm sure any garage guy or autoparts store has them . They may even rent them .

I guess , I was a little late to the party !!! LOL
