Re: What's This??????????

I would say about 3/4" diameter. Sorry, but it is at my office and can't check for sure.

Re: What's This??????????

Probably has many uses , but the drain plug on my boat looks like that & is made of brass so it doesn't rust. I'm guessing dia. is
3/4 or 1''.

Re: What's This??????????

my lawn mower has one on the bottom where you drain the oil, but it's made of steel

could be a drain plug from

an old car / truck / tractor?

or other type of machinery

Re: What's This??????????

I wouldn't think drain plug for a couple reasons, it's "shouldered" or undercut(meaning it isn't completely threaded), and most drain plugs are a finer thread.

I don't think it's a shackle bolt either, because of the softness of brass.

Pumps use alot of brass, or anything that is in conact with water (fresh or salt).

Smitty...you are correct..somehow I missed seeing that it was made of brass....a shackle bolt would be something alot harder or tempered. My mistake... ;)

Re: What's This??????????

Hi, that gap between the cap and the thread would possibly allow fluids, or gases, to drain before the screw got too loose ;D

Cheers, Mike
