whats the oldest coin you have dug

Just this weekend, I dug my oldest coin to date....an 1867 shield nickel....not in the greatest of condition, but I'll take it! Was dug in a field in search of an old stagecoach stop...

Don't have a picture of the coin, but have dug several 1000 - 1100 Chinese coins here in S. Korea. Sure wish I could dig
a Korean coin dating back to that time. Would be worth much more than the Chinese coins.

My oldest coin is my 1778 King Carlos 111 8 reale

I have a 1777! Do you have a picture of that? Seems like a strange date... don't know why it hits me funny. Maybe I just need more coffee. :tongue3:

My oldest, as it has yet to be called a fake, is this Roman Antoninus Pius from the 2nd century AD. Found in Kansas of all places.

Second would be this Half Reale. I can't see any date but probably late 1700's to early 1800's? Also found in Kansas.

Next to a small river in west tx, a coin from china dates from 1790-1810.

Well my oldest coin that you can read the date is 1914 Wheat Penny, but I dug a Large Cent but it's blank

My Avatar. 1846 Large Cent, found using an Eagle Spectrum at 4 inches

1694 William and Mary halfpenny, :icon_thumleft:
