Ive been told many different prices, but I finally saw one sell at heritage auction house for 42,000$ seen them for 8-10,000 on ebay. Ive seen fakes selling for 1600-3500. I guess in the end it boils down to what someone actually pays for it. I never saw what that coin actually went for but at midnight when I fell asleep it was at 42000. It was estimated to go for 50-80,000. Ive never seen another one in person and at least half of the ones ive seen on line have been fakes. 1732 was the first year of minting, and both years 1732 and 33 all went to the bottom in the florida keys on there way to spain. The ones that were salvaged by the spanish and sent back to spain were all melted down. Very few exsist today from those first 2 years of minting. Those 2 years are the most sought after by 8 reale pillar dollar collectors. The one I saw sell at heritage was in better shape than mine but not by much.photo-8.JPG found the cob piece of eight right under the pillar piece of eight in the same hole. It has good value too, but not like that pillar dollar. Many big names in the treasure world have come to see this coin including marty meylach, carl fismar, bradly Williamson and others. Im honered to own it and will not sell until I find another. Ive been told 900 were lost in total here. 2 others were found here stuck together and in very poor condition. Hope I find another one day.

I believe it's worth over a grand but have only been offered $785 so far, but I am not looking to sell it just yet.

WOWWWWWW!!! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I could only imagine finding a coin that rare, and worth $50,000. I would probably never sell it, because I would never be able to stop looking at it. That is perhaps one of the greatest single coin finds in the hobby, Congrats!

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1535544761.660491.jpg I would imagine this would be at least my most rare coin , value I don't know ?! 1845 RPD half dime found it dirt fishing

Found this 1845 Large Cent in a trash can next to a coin counting machine few weeks ago. I would grade it G-G+, ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1543849447.803186.jpg, ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1543849475.340166.jpg
Going to keep this one in my personal collection.

It's a token rather than a coin, but it turned out to be the only one known to exist today, so in reality it's priceless but this is what I got out of it on Ebay.

This poll gave me a real good laugh. Not because of the poll, but because, apparently, the most valuable coin I've found so far is a 1994 Chuck E Cheese token. They are going for 6 bucks on ebay. Hahahahahahahaha!

1923S Standing Liberty quarter in XF condition.

well 2 of my favorite finds have been on ebay , i have been concentrating on canadian large cents, mostly varieties, the first is known as 1882 triple hub paid $10 supposed to be only 10 known i dont know the value as none have ever been sold publicly 20170316_DSCF0590_opt.jpg20170316_DSCF0591_opt.jpg20170316_DSCF0594_opt.jpg20170316_DSCF0607_opt.jpg20170316_DSCF0609_opt.jpg
the second is also 1882 but is known as the double die obverse which is also quite rare but what makes it really rare is the condition, none are known to be higher grade, paid $9 was offered $1500 minutes minutes after it was posted on another forum, have been told its worth 5 figures26169131_10157040729782995_8836358637524983403_n.jpg26169263_10157040729572995_3984922317821798484_n.jpg26238773_10157040729797995_7456295247132942197_n.jpg

But how did you find these.

Ebay (Mentioned at the top of the thread)
People have responded with detecting finds, roll hunting finds, pocket change, etc.

I guess "find" depends on someone's definition of "Discovered" as asked by the OP.

Of course you are right, for more information check my profile)

1860 "S" mintmark seated liberty quarter, 56,000 minted. Not for sale, because we all know I will never find another. Found it several years ago near a branch line RR track in SW Oregon.
