What's In A Name?

Let me illustrate with photos from a recent hunt...

We call ourselves the Iron Brigade

Because we are willing to go on a long trek--and meet fantastic people--and travel to interesting places.

To get ourselves out in the woods, or large fields like this...

Just to scratch the itch for old coins and relics.

Finding the iron patch is always the greatest relief, because of what it signifies.

And we're more than willing to dig all of this

BIG IRON.jpg

For just ONE coin--even if it happens to be one of these.

Farewell to the plowed fields. I believe it's now time to hit the woods.

Hope you all have had as much fun as we have during the spring window.

Regards,

Buckleboy and The IRON Brigade.

Jimbob.

One member of our team sustained massive injuries to his legs years ago in a motorcycle accident.

Yes that would be me the cripple. As much as I hate to say this and it kills me to say it I think my detecting days are over. I might be able to do a small yard but the all day treks with the crew are a memory for me now. Those are some great memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. It was a good run and I'm not mad for not being able to do it anymore but thankful for the times I did get to dig with Will and the rest of the crew.

KFB signing off.

You have an honourable view to life. You remind me of how it all started for me. My Uncle was badly injured in the Army & is in a wheelchair to this day. When I was about 9 he gave me his detector & said I would make more use of it. He was right & I would have never of thought of trying it without his lead (I thank him to this day). What he never guessed was that after 10 years of me detecting, my Dad would join the hunt too. Much to the annoyance of my Mum (lol).
