What's In A Name?

Let me illustrate with photos from a recent hunt...

We call ourselves the Iron Brigade

Because we are willing to go on a long trek--and meet fantastic people--and travel to interesting places.

5-1-08 The Trek.jpg

To get ourselves out in the woods, or large fields like this...

5-1-08Fields.jpg

Just to scratch the itch for old coins and relics.

5-1-08 001 Rodeo.jpg

Finding the iron patch is always the greatest relief, because of what it signifies.

And we're more than willing to dig all of this

BIG IRON.jpg

For just ONE coin--even if it happens to be one of these.

Farewell to the plowed fields. I believe it's now time to hit the woods.

Hope you all have had as much fun as we have during the spring window.

Regards,

Buckleboy and The IRON Brigade.

LOL! I'm gonna try to be more of a "post it all" kinda guy. Even if it takes an extra photo for the three backpacks of junk IRON we hauled two miles out of the woods...LOL. I don't want folks to think that the Buckles just "jump out of the ground" and into my pouch. :P

LOL Jim--we don't hit it all the time. We aren't superstars... But sometimes when the hunts are amazing ones, a familiar little song keeps playing on "repeat" in my head...

The Iron Brigade is an equal opportunity club... on the application form they ask if you can "perform the act of metal detecting with or without provisons".

Re: What's In A Name?

You are right BB. Newbies think that you just buy a cheapo detector and start finding old coins and CW Relics. You got to be tough to find the good stuff!!! Happy hunting to the Iron Brigade. Are you the General??

Nope. No General here. Not that they'd take orders anyhow...

Re: What's In A Name?

Nice post BB. It's not all peaches and creme. Lots of hard work going on behind the scenes to pull some of the finds that you guys have been pulling. You guys certainly have my respect.  Keep up the good work, and if you ever find yourself with too many buckles than you know what to do with send one this way :D :D .

Re: What's In A Name?

You may have seen my recent trip to N orfolk. If only I had the time to tell you the riches I saw. Nearly enough to make me move & join the darkside!

Happy hunting.

Remember, its time to get tough!

Re: What's In A Name?

Yes that would be me the cripple. As much as I hate to say this and it kills me to say it I think my detecting days are over. I might be able to do a small yard but the all day treks with the crew are a memory for me now. Those are some great memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. It was a good run and I'm not mad for not being able to do it anymore but thankful for the times I did get to dig with Will and the rest of the crew.

KFB signing off.

Hey... now that your name is "kindafoundaclue"... you should be signing off with KFC.

That way you have the Kentucky Colonel thing covered... and the chicken thing, in case you need to have the chicken thing covered.

What? No Little Debbie cakes? ;D

Pictures. What would we do without 'em?

That teeny Spring window we had didn't last nearly long enough. :-\ And hunting the woods is all but impossible around here till winter. :-\

Good luck hunting! Nana :)
