Well I ended up not getting to do much detecting today because I got severely dehydrated. I did manage to dig one thing at about a foot in depth. Whatever the item is rang up as an 85 on my AT Pro. I'm not really sure what it is, but it's got some weight to it, and it doesn't stick to my magnet. Wow, I didn't realize how my phone changed the color of the item. It made it look like a rusty hunk of junk, but it's not even the same color as it appears in the pictures. It's got some white color to it with some grey and almost yellow looking color.

1st - You might consider taking a few more pictures BUT making sure they are in focus.

2nd - I moved ya from TODAY'S FINDS! over to WHAT IS IT? for more exposure.

download.jpgbetter pics , metal type and a size reference would all be helpful .
but I'll take a guess on it by general shape and being non magnetic .
maybe it's a toe plate .

Lead was my guess also from the first pics. If lead, you should be able to scratch into it pretty easily. The white is a clue. Old buried lead does develop a whitish patina.
