What Would You DO If You Found A Million Dollar Hoard Or Lost Treasure

since if it becomes known you "found" money or any other valuibles * everyone and his brother will "target you" to get some or all of it via "legal" or "illegal" means -- to start with --the various local , state and federal grubbermints might invoke varoius laws to try to take it all , at the least the IRS as well will want a huge cut even if you do get to keep any of it --- if the money was say stolen money from a bank robbery --the bank owners heirs, or the insurance company that covered the loss will want "their" money --if it was lost or stolen govt payroll money * rule of thumb is "once govt money -always govt money *-- ps confederate gold --at wars end with the souths surrender all confederate gold became --US Govt property

plus there are butt loads of folks if they find out money was found somewhere -- will by hook or crook try to claim it was their folks money prior and thus try to own it.--- massive court troubles and cost --out of which only the lawyers will get rich , and these are just the ones who will try to rob you "legally" -- there are also just plain ole illegal thiefs --who if they think you got "treasure / money" in your home will try to rob your place , the first chance they get.

so rule #1 --you found "nothing " -- rule #2 right away change hiding place of said "nothing" you did not find (since another person might be hunting for it or might come back to the site to recover it--say if its dope money or sumpin like that ) # 3 tell no one * repeat NO ONE about the "nothing" you did not find. #4. slowly sell off the "nothing" you did not find bit by bit ( no sudden burst of wealth to draw unwanted attention) -- hide funds gained from converting "nothing" in a nice safety deposit box or several of them (put directions to any "unconverted nothing stash places in the safety deposit box " so if you croak --the person who's name you put as the reciever of the safety deposit box in case of death can find the "nothing" and carry on with the process )
 

I never found a lost treasure hoard and that is the story I'm sticking with...
 

Wouldn't tell anyone, would just quietly disappear to somewhere nice and spend the rest of my life doing things I enjoy.....

Loose lips brings the IRS and long lost distant relatives.......
 

Keep my mouth shut!!!!! Then convert it to cash a little at a time as I needed it. I have several good contacts to convert gold/silver to cash (non-traced) when needed.
 

This is just a little example of the trouble you will have. Multiply it by a million.
I was on the beach in OC detecting. I am always aware of my surroundings so I hoticed this guy watching every dig. I came up with a heavy gold wedding band. The guy walked up to me and said," Oh you found my wedding band". I held it up close and said to him " I will give it to you if you can tell me the inscription in it'. He smiled and quietly walked away. PS It only had 18kt in it.

Hoard of treasure? WHAT hoard of treasure? I know NOTHING about any hoard of treasure.

I would just go out for the paper one day and disappear.


Not friend, foe or family would know.

And NEVER announce it anywhere on the internet.

Just disappear.

I'm probably the first guy to take this position. I would donate it ALL to the Wounded Warriors Project. I have both arms, both legs, all my fingers and toes, I have both eyes, I can think clearly and get a good nights sleep, I can hear. I think you get my drift. Gentlemen, I HAVE a treasure ....... and they helped me keep it.
 

You know, This is a touchy subject... What I mean to say is...

You take a mans consience, there are 2 sides... They angel on one shoulder, and the lil devil on the other... I would kidnap them both before they saw it... And not even tell Myself... :tongue3:

WHAT TREASURE ? :o -- as sgt shultz says -- I know nothing , I saw nothing , I heard nothing --and if something happened close by I was asleep when it occured. ::) :-X

Experience can be a strenuous teacher, no graduates or degrees, and sometimes only a few survivors. It lets you recognize a mistake before you make it again.

I'd do nothing, it's the satisfaction of knowing what you've discovered and knowing that it is accessible if necessary.
