Ive found my share of strange foreign coins in nickel and cents rolls including a couple of light weight aluminum (I think) foreign coins from somewhere in the middle east or Africa in nickel rolls. I also found some type of pfennig coin from 1950 in a box of nickels. I looked it up online and found out there is a valuable type of this coin but that's not the one I had. And I remember when I found my first magicians half I thought that was kinda strange because I hadn't even heard of them before. And finding an ASE (my avatar) earlier this year was strange because even though it has a $1 denomination it is a 1 oz silver bullion coin and was never intended to be used in circulation at face value. But I got that loose from a teller in a bank envelope and not in a box obviously.

My most valuable single coin I've found is still the 1899 Morgan I found a few years ago that's probably worth about $130 in its condition. My single most value find of coins from a bank at one time was finding 3 solid cwr's of Walkers and Bens from a bank a couple of years ago. I remember silver was about $43 oz then so the intrinsic value of the coins at that time was around $960 or so from what I remember. It will be hard for me to ever top those two finds in terms of value but u never know with this hobby. I remember just a month or two before I joined here some guy found an entire box of Walkers. If any of u haven't seen that post with his pics of stacks and stacks of Walkers u should check it out. Now that was amazing!

H$H!

a piece of wood that took up the space of about 10-12 dimes in a brinks dime roll 2 years ago.

A stick of gum not in a roll but in a sealed box of dimes.

as a kid I found a barber dime in a roll of pennies.... 1903 I think. it wasn't dirty, as are some clad dimes you find sometimes. also found a few of those Lincoln smoking a pipe types...familiar w/ those? I don't know the back story on them, I just know I cant part w/ them.

Keyring the exact thickness and circumference as a half dollar, guitar pics, and the oddest was a dateless shield nickel in a bag of Eisenhower dollars.

A oblong zinc colored penny in the spot of 2 nickels in a sealed box.

Not in a box, but reject tray on a counting machine I found a thin 925 sterling silver necklace chain (about 16 inches), no clasp, but still silver. Coins are .900, this chain is .925; much purer than AG coins.

In one roll of halves, I got a Pope Pius XII Vatican coin (silver).

In a roll of pennies a week or two later, I got a silver Hindu token that is given as offerings at temples

Weird that my interesting finds came within weeks of each other and both religious. Happily, both silver too!

With the events of the last few months, it may have been.

I've got to treat religion like Pokemon, apparently. Gotta catch em all! If I practice enough, I'm bound to get the right one!

Next up, hopefully, is Zoroastrianism.

accordselux: i found a pope pius token on the beach but was very delapidated.

Weird... They seem pretty odd to find in the wild, huh? I'll grab a pic in a bit.

I don't really know
My weirdest thing was cotton balls shoved in the middle of the roll.
My most valuable would be a 1913 s type 2 Buffalo
