Nothing....was happening in Oklahoma in "1807".....statehood was 1907.
Unless someone comes up with a solid explanation...I think its a mistake. :dontknow:
Or its just bogus......

What's wierd is the "8" on the OP's button/item looks as if it never was a "9" that has been altered. It looks as if it was actually stamped as an "8". This item with the state name Oklahoma on it for obvious reasons can't be older than 1907. I think the item was stamped with the mistake. Prior to 1907, what would become the state of Oklahoma was comprised of Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory.

Weird!! The design is pretty much the same as the actual Oklahoma State Seal, but with very flagrant mistakes! Wonder if this may have even been made as a spoof or mockery? There was an attempt by the civilized tribes of eastern Oklahoma to created a state called the State of Sequoyah that failed to pass Congress. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Sequoyah Maybe this was made to show their disapproval?

but, My guess is a fashion blazer button that didn't pay much attention to detail. (Obviously :tongue3: )

Mr Senior found it himself - in Slovakia. Check out reply#12.

After seeing his comments, I had googled Oklandma, Slovakia and found some references - but just tried again and the only hit was this thread :icon_scratch:

Mike

Edit: A bit more searching and have found a vague reference on a blog referring to Oklandma as being in the USA.
"but over the summer of 08 Rachel moved to Oklandma... who moves to Oklandma??? well she did.... but picture ur BEST BEST BEST friend in the whole world about a good 2 days away from u...
