What to do with coins from coin roll hunting

Years ago I had this head teller who would order me boxes of half dollars, but she told me she didn't want to see them again. I was taking them to a casino, but as most of you of know, casinos have done away with machines that take coins.
I have been doing boxes of dimes lately. I've been trying to figure out what to do with them. The other day I took a fanny pack full of them to Walmart and went to the self checkout. I was putting them in the coin slot one at a time and a cashier came over and lifted up the top part of the coin slot revealing a funnel like bottom. She showed me that I could pour the coins in. Also, the coin slot was too small to accept half dollars, but with that lifted up I'm wondering if it would now accept halves. I didn't have any halves with me to test it. Next time. Also, I bought coin wrappers from Dollar Tree and wrapped a bunch of dimes. I've been surprised at all of the stores that would take a roll of dimes as payment. Even Dollar Tree took them. I've heard that stores have problems running out of coins on weekends when banks are closed.

BTW, I was trying to write this and the lag is so bad I almost gave up. Is the lag due to all of the pop up ads or what? This website is almost unuseable.

I pick up at banks and credit unions that order for me, and return where I can deposit through coin counters.

When I open an account, I am open and honest as to my intentions.

Take them to another branch of the same bank, or a different bank if you have multiple accounts

And I used to make a small mark on the roll (so I could id) after searching. That way if they transfer between branches you don’t accept that roll

Not sure why you're getting pop ups.
Never has happened for me at least.
Most mom & pop stores need change on a regular basis.

What I have done is set it up with the head teller that I bring the boxes back, all wrapped and boxed up and we exchange for new boxes that I haven't seen. I mark the rolls and the box, so they know I've already seen that box. That way, the bank doesn't incur any additional charges for ordering extra coin. The teller then gives my searched rolls out first as other customers (and businesses) request them. Occasionally, they will run out of boxes that I haven't seen, typically with nickels, so I have this set up at 3 branches and I just email the head teller if I need to go to one of the alternates. I've even been told that some of the businesses like my rolls because they are always counted right and there's no foreign (other than Canadian cents and nickels) in them.
I've been doing this since 1975, and at the same branches of my local bank for more than 10 years. They won't do halves, though as no business wants them. One branch will order halves for me as long as I don't bring them back. I only do that in the winter when I have extra time.

They said they had a lot of substitutions (slugs, Canadian) but I never believed that... for pennies? Who'd bother; it wouldn't be worth the trouble.
